Real Estate News

This year, Colorado has made it onto several “Best Cities to Live in” lists. Highlands Ranch was ranked 6th in Time magazine, Denver was ranked 1st in Business Insider and 5th in Wallet hub, Colorado Springs was ranked 4th in Wallet Hub and Boulder was ranked 5th in Livability.com.

Sure, each list can be subjective even with some underlying research. However, it wasn’t until recently that our state even made it to the top 10.

So what makes our state so appealing? It’s obvious in our real estate trends that there has been more bidding wars between buyers because of a smaller pool of inventory.

Home prices have risen for this very reason and according to Zillow Denver Metro home values have gone up 10.7% over the past year, with the median price of homes currently listed in Denver Metro at $400,000.

For Castle Rock, the median home value is $410,000. Castle Rock home values have gone up 6.8% over the past year. The median list price per square foot in Castle Rock is $202, which is lower than the Denver Metro average of $225.

However, the numbers are not necessarily deterring the movers and shakers of the country to move to Denver.

Livibility.com praised Boulder for its pristine views, arts and culture and their emphasis on farm-to-table restaurants.

Business Insider pointed out that although it’s no mountain town, Denver is only an arm’s reach away from any ski resort.

Time magazine stated that Highlands Ranch has a low crime rate, high-rated schools and many job openings making it an appealing place to live.

In fact, Highlands Ranch might be something to highlight for anyone living in Douglas county. With the increase in job opportunities, naturally the real estate market has been booming. So, many of these job seekers are looking at homes in Douglas County such as Parker, Castle Rock or Castle Pines.

According to livability.com, people continue to make Castle Rock their relocation choice for many factors such as scenic views, convenient location between Denver and Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs being another city that has a low crime rate and a near-perfect high-school graduation rate.
